drama
run time: 90 minutes
fifteen-year-old stephen snatched a toddler from the park and held him captive for five days in his grandfather’s house. three years later, his mother Sandra is forced to piece together what happened and why. while she tells their story to a documentary camera; her estranged son tells an altogether different story with the camera
snap presents us, as well as its characters, with a compelling mystery.
we begin to assemble an unsettling portrait of three generations of a family trapped in recreating a past that each one denies. it is only when the image of sandra and stephen’s likeness is captured and reflected back to them that - SNAP! - a fleeting moment of recognition, and of choice, can occur.
