the alarms
directed by mark cantan & damian farrell
comedy/mockumentary
run time: 96 minutes
the alarms is a mock rock doc about a fictitious irish rock band from the
mid-nineties who only existed for 2 months, played 1 gig and never released a single single but thanks to a devious manager and their own gullibility became one of the most famous bands in the world for all the wrong reasons.
through interviews with the band, their manager and others who were involved the thoroughly biased truth of what happened is told here in this smart and funny comedy with heart, soul, and rock ānā roll. the alarms is a film with an original approach to storytelling that embraces the world of low budget film making with open arms and shallow pockets.
